Corner Office Bound



Position: Student Life Coordinator

Reports to: Alumni Relations & Student Life Officer 


Major Responsibilities:
  • Engage students in the life of the College to support a high quality student experience.
  • Under supervisor’s direction, work with student organization leaders, staff and faculty to plan, promote, oversee and evaluate student life activities to meet the needs of students.
  • Advise and support student organizations, including student government. Provide training and experiences to develop students’ leadership skills. Assist groups in offering programs that meet the needs of their members.
  • Communicate related College policies and procedures to student organizations. Assist in ensuring organizations are in compliance.
  • Coordinate student organizations’ activities to maximize resources, efficiency, and participation.
  • Maintain student network Web site.
  • Write and post information on social media; Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
  • Create and maintain a strong connection between student organizations and Walsh College Alumni Association.
  • Assist in researching and establishing new student organizations.
  • Assist in conducting elections of officers per established rules or bylaws.
  • Maintain records and statistics of student organizations.
  • Assist in developing and writing reports.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A minimum of one year customer/student service, office or related experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of excellent customer service required.
  • Exhibits enthusiasm and ability to develop connections with students.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills required.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Possesses the demeanor and presence to represent the College.
  • Experience in marketing communications, event planning, or managing social media a plus.
  • Knowledge of business careers a plus.
  • Must be available to work weekly evening events and occasional weekend events, some of which are off-site in the metro-Detroit area
